BASIC COCONUT MILK
This is a simple recipe for homemade coconut milk. Do not use this as a dairy (milk) substitute. Be mindful of how your system reacts to it - too much of it can be heavy on the gut. It is recommended that you avoid it for the first six months on the diet.

Ingredients

2 cups (440 g) unsweetened finely shredded coconut*
6 cups (1.4 L) hot water

Instructions

1. Combine all ingredients together in a high-powered juicer or mixer
2. Blend thoroughly and then strain through a cheesecloth or nut milk bag
3. The resulting liquid will be milky coconut water (without the flakes)
4. *Note: Wait for at least 6 months after symptoms have cleared before trying shredded coconut

Yield

5 cups (1.2 L)
