Summertime in the Northeast means BBQs and grilling outside. We try to maximize our time in warm weather so we can remember those times fondly when the cold arrives and the grills have been covered and put away. This delicious BBQ sauce can be used to marinate and flavor any cut of meat you might want to throw on your grill.

½ cup (120 mL) Nonnie’s SCD Ketchup (p. 353)

1½ teaspoons (7 g) honey
1 clove garlic, peeled and minced fine
¼ teaspoon pepper
J teaspoon salt
J teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves, chopped fine
2 bay leaves for seasoning

1. Mix all ingredients together (except for the bay leaves) in a handheld blender, or small mixer
2. Add in the bay leaves at the end allow to help favor the sauce
3. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container for 1-2 weeks
4. (If you like your sauce sweeter, you may add in more honey)
