GINGER ALE 2
Lounge outside with your book, and sip your chilled homemade ginger ale. You could also use this ginger base with hot water to make a soothing tea.

Ingredients

2 cups (192 g) fresh ginger chunks, peeled and chopped
1 tablespoon (15 mL) lemon juice
1½ cups (360 mL) water
N cup (113 g) honey
Increase proportionally as required.
Syrup should stay in the fridge for up to 5 days.

Instructions

1. Add together ingredients and blend in a small mixer or hand blender
2. Strain mixture by pressing through strainer so excess ginger fibers are removed
3. Use this as a base syrup, and add plain or carbonated water as desired to make your ginger ale drink
4. For serving the ginger ale, combine 3 tablespoons of the syrup base with 1 cup of carbonated water

Yield

2 cups (480 mL) syrup base
